Life is meant to be celebrated — and we celebrated this milestone together, with the people of Baltic Candles, their families, friends, and guests. Because moments like these are meant to be shared.
Joy is a genuine expression of gratitude for this moment. And it is only through gratitude that we can truly live in the present.

Shadow Day is a globally recognized Junior Achievement career education program for students in grades 1–12. On this day, students can visit a workplace of their choice and observe a professional in their field of interest during a typical workday. This year, on April 1, our company provided this opportunity to Sanda, a 9th-grade student from Gardene Secondary School in the Dobele Municipality. Throughout the day, she shadowed our Sales Manager, Veronika Kaimiņa, to gain insight into her daily work.

On February 7 of this year, the 12th Dobele Candle Chess Tournament took place — a beautiful tradition in Dobele during the candle month.

For 13 years now, the association “Dobele Chess Club,” led by Imanta Ābula, has been inspiring both young and experienced players to learn and enjoy playing chess, bringing together chess enthusiasts in Dobele from across Latvia and Lithuania. This year, 48 participants gathered at the checkered boards, playing a total of 184 exciting games. Eleven chess players represented Dobele – Aleksandrs Koceruba took the 8th place overall, while Gabriels Mellis won 2nd place in his age group. We are truly proud to be part of this tradition, which promotes Dobele through chess and candles, a town where candles have been produced since 1969. Our historic brand, DOBELES SVECES, continues to carry this story forward.

Our company has also sent its support filled with light and warmth to the freedom fighters of Ukraine with the Dobele convoy organized by the association VICHE in cooperation with the Dobele Municipality. Every day the people of Ukraine, both soldiers and civilians, continue to endure life in conditions of full-scale war. They face constant shortages of light, warmth, food, and other essential needs.

BALTIC CANDLES Ltd. was established on February 21, 1996.
Thanks to that day and to the careful and dedicated daily work carried out here in Dobele every single day, the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

For the third year in a row, we participated with our own stand at an international trade fair in Frankfurt.

The exhibition Christmas world took place from February 6 to 10 and brought together 4,636 exhibitors from 170 countries. Christmas world is a long-standing meeting place for festive inspiration, showcasing interior items, lighting, and decorations from around the world.
Candles created in Dobele fit perfectly into this atmosphere. Both our products and our presence at the exhibition delighted existing clients and attracted many new ones.

Ltd “Baltic Candles Ltd” 07.01.2026. signed an agreement No 9.3-1-L-2026/2 with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia on receiving support for export assistance under the project “SME Innovative Business Development” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

This year on January 8, the STEM Career Day for secondary school students was held for the first time in Dobele Municipality, organised by the Dobele Youth Initiative and Health Centre. We were pleased to be invited and to take part in this meaningful initiative.

By participating, we supported local students in gaining a better understanding of the business environment and the knowledge and skills required across different company departments and management roles. This real-life company visit helped young people explore career options and make more informed decisions about their future.

As part of the event, we welcomed ten motivated students from Dobele Municipality. They were highly engaged and positive, and confirmed that the insight into our company’s internal operations was extremely valuable and useful.

We are happy to have been part of this experience and to support young people in their career development.

On October 28–29 this year, His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark and Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark paid an official visit to Latvia.

Our company owner, Jens Thorup, had the honor and opportunity to attend the reception at Riga Castle hosted by the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, in honour of the distinguished guests.

A celebration established by National Candle Association (NCA – USA) and relayed by the European Candle Manufacturers Association (ECMA) and the Latin American Candle Manufacturers Association (ALAFAVE). Its objective is to bring to light the various ways candles enrich our daily lives and to promote the safe use of candles. The annual event brings together candle lovers from around the world. World Candle Month is just one of the many ways ECMA encourages industry collaboration to promote global awareness of candle safety and the benefits of candles. For This year’s World Candle Month theme is “Love the Glow”.
